In one instance, Palin tweeted a call on peaceful Muslims to "refudiate" the plan to build the Park51 community center (aka "Ground Zero Mosque") two blocks from the site of the world trade center. In this context, repudiate makes perfect sense while refute does not. One does not refute a plan. One does not refute an inconsiderate gesture. One repudiates them [if that].

She even used the word "refute" later. That's even more incorrect than your made up word! That's FOX for you.
